27th Sunday in Ordinary Time – October 18, 2026
October – Month of the Holy Rosary
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This Sunday’s readings invite us to reflect on our responsibility to God and to the world. In the first reading, the prophet Isaiah reminds us that God is Lord of history. Even Cyrus, a pagan king, becomes an instrument in God’s plan. This teaches us that God can work through people and circumstances we may not expect. We are called to trust in God’s providence and remain faithful to Him.
In the second reading, St. Paul gives thanks for the Christians at Thessalonica because their faith produces good works, their love leads to service, and their hope in Jesus Christ gives them perseverance. Faith is not simply something we profess with our lips; it must be visible in the way we live, love, forgive, and serve others.
In the Gospel, the Pharisees try to trap Jesus with the question, “Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not?” Jesus responds, “Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.” Jesus reminds us that while we have responsibilities as citizens, our first and greatest responsibility is to God. We may use the things of this world, but our hearts ultimately belong to God.
As we begin this new week, let us ask ourselves: What belongs to God? Our time, our talents, our families, our work, our possessions, and especially our hearts—all are gifts from God. Let us give Him not merely one hour on Sunday but allow Him to guide our entire week.
Message to live out this week: Give God what belongs to God. Begin each day with prayer, fulfill your responsibilities faithfully, and look for one concrete opportunity each day to serve someone in need. Let our faith be seen through our love, our generosity, and our actions.
May the Lord help us to be faithful disciples—responsible citizens in the world, but above all, faithful children of God whose hearts belong completely to Him.

Octubre: Mes del Santo Rosario
Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo:
Las lecturas de este domingo nos invitan a reflexionar sobre nuestra responsabilidad ante Dios y ante el mundo.
En la primera lectura, el profeta Isaías nos recuerda que Dios es el Señor de la historia. Incluso el rey Ciro, que no pertenecía al pueblo de Israel, fue utilizado por Dios para cumplir su plan. Esto nos enseña que Dios puede actuar a través de personas y situaciones que nosotros no esperamos. Por eso, estamos llamados a confiar en su providencia y permanecer fieles a Él.
En la segunda lectura, San Pablo agradece a los cristianos de Tesalónica porque su fe produce obras, su amor los impulsa a servir y su esperanza en Jesucristo les da perseverancia. Nuestra fe no puede quedarse solamente en palabras; debe manifestarse en la manera en que vivimos, amamos, perdonamos y ayudamos a los demás.
En el Evangelio, los fariseos intentan poner a prueba a Jesús preguntándole si es lícito pagar el impuesto al César. Jesús responde: “Den al César lo que es del César y a Dios lo que es de Dios.” Jesús nos recuerda que tenemos responsabilidades como ciudadanos, pero nuestra primera y más grande responsabilidad es con Dios. Podemos utilizar las cosas de este mundo, pero nuestro corazón pertenece al Señor.
Al comenzar esta nueva semana, preguntémonos: ¿Qué le pertenece a Dios? Nuestro tiempo, nuestros talentos, nuestra familia, nuestro trabajo, nuestros bienes y, sobre todo, nuestro corazón, son dones recibidos de Él. No debemos darle a Dios solamente una hora el domingo; debemos permitir que Él guíe toda nuestra vida.
Mensaje para vivir durante esta semana: Demos a Dios lo que le pertenece. Comencemos cada día con una oración, cumplamos fielmente nuestras responsabilidades y busquemos cada día una oportunidad concreta para ayudar a alguien que lo necesite. Que nuestra fe se manifieste en el amor, la generosidad, el perdón y el servicio.
Que el Señor nos ayude a ser discípulos fieles: buenos ciudadanos en el mundo, pero sobre todo, hijos fieles de Dios, cuyo corazón le pertenece completamente a Él.
Que Dios bendiga a ustedes y a sus familias durante toda esta semana.

CHÚA NHẬT 29 THƯỜNG NIÊN – Ngày 18 tháng 10, 2026
Kính thưa quý ông bà và anh chị em trong Chúa Kitô,
Các bài đọc Chúa Nhật hôm nay mời gọi chúng ta suy nghĩ về bổn phận của người Kitô hữu đối với Thiên Chúa và đối với xã hội.
Trong bài đọc thứ nhất, tiên tri-Isaia cho chúng ta thấy Thiên Chúa là Chúa của lịch sử. Ngay cả vua Kyrô, một vị vua không thuộc dân Israel, cũng được Thiên Chúa dùng để thực hiện chương trình của Ngài. Điều này nhắc nhở chúng ta rằng Thiên Chúa luôn hoạt động trong lịch sử và có thể dùng những con người hay những hoàn cảnh mà chúng ta không ngờ tới để thực hiện ý định của Ngài. Vì thế, chúng ta hãy luôn tin tưởng vào sự quan phòng của Thiên Chúa.
Trong bài đọc thứ hai, Thánh Phaolô khen ngợi cộng đoàn Thessalonica vì đức tin của họ sinh ra việc làm, lòng yêu thương thúc đẩy họ phục vụ, và niềm hy vọng nơi Đức Kitô giúp họ kiên trì. Đức tin Kitô giáo không chỉ là những lời chúng ta tuyên xưng, nhưng phải được thể hiện qua đời sống yêu thương, tha thứ, quảng đại và phục vụ tha nhân.
Trong bài Tin Mừng, những người Pharisiêu tìm cách gài bẫy Chúa Giêsu bằng câu hỏi về việc nộp thuế cho Xê-da. Chúa Giêsu trả lời: “Của Xê-da, trả về Xê-da; của Thiên Chúa, trả về Thiên Chúa.” Chúa nhắc chúng ta rằng chúng ta có những trách nhiệm đối với xã hội và đất nước, nhưng trên hết, trái tim và cuộc đời chúng ta thuộc về Thiên Chúa.
Bước vào tuần mới, chúng ta hãy tự hỏi: Tôi đang dâng cho Thiên Chúa điều gì? Thời giờ, tài năng, công việc, gia đình, của cải và chính cuộc sống của chúng ta đều là những ân huệ Chúa ban. Vì thế, chúng ta không chỉ dành cho Chúa một giờ trong ngày Chúa Nhật, nhưng hãy để Chúa hướng dẫn mọi ngày và mọi quyết định của chúng ta.
Sứ điệp sống trong tuần này: “Hãy trả cho Thiên Chúa những gì thuộc về Thiên Chúa.” Mỗi buổi sáng, hãy bắt đầu ngày mới bằng một lời cầu nguyện. Hãy chu toàn bổn phận với tinh thần trách nhiệm và mỗi ngày cố gắng làm một việc bác ái cụ thể cho một người đang cần đến sự giúp đỡ của chúng ta.
Xin Chúa giúp mỗi người chúng ta trở nên những Kitô hữu tốt trong xã hội, nhưng trên hết là những người con trung thành của Thiên Chúa, biết trao cho Ngài trọn vẹn tâm hồn, tình yêu và cuộc đời mình. Nguyện xin Thiên Chúa chúc lành cho quý ông bà và anh chị em cùng toàn thể gia đình trong suốt tuần này.
