Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
November is the month in which we especially pray for all the deceased brothers and sisters. Our Holy Mother Church invites all the faithful to attend mass, recite the holy rosaries, and do charitable works in prayer for those who have gone before us. May all the faithful departed of the mercy of God, rest in peace!. May the Lord, through the intercession of Our Lady bless each one of you with peace, love and joy!
The theme of today’s readings is repentence - the benevolent and forgiving Mercy of God for sinners calls us to repentance and conversion. The First Reading reminds us that God's Almighty Power includes His strength to be merciful. That is why God, who created the universe mercifully, waits for sinners to repent. God continues to love us, even when we do not love Him in return. The reading focuses on the love God has for all He has created, the love that overlooks sin so that we all have time for repentance. In the responsorial psalm, the Psalmist also tells us that the Lord is good to all, and His compassion is over all that He has made. The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness (Ps. 148:8). In the Second Reading, St. Paul encourages the Thessalonians to persevere in their Christian Faith, giving glory to God, without idly waiting for the "second coming" of Christ in their lifetime. He advises them to continue to live a good Christian life every day, allowing God to work in their lives so that they may be worthy of their vocation as Christians. Today’s Gospel presents the story of the instantaneous conversion of the tax-collector Zacchaeus. God’s grace led him to a moment of conversion. The account describes how Jesus recognized Zacchaeus for exactly what he was – a lost sinner in need of a Savior – and how God’s grace worked in Zacchaeus to lead him from idle curiosity to repentance, conversion, and restitution. The episode emphasizes the fact that such a conversion can only result from a person’s fully receiving the love, acceptance, and grace of a merciful Lord.
We need to accept the Divine invitation for repentance. We are all sinners to a greater or lesser degree. Jesus is inviting each one of us to total conversion today. Let us remember that Jesus loves us despite our ugly thoughts, broken promises, sullied ideals, lack of prayer and Faith, resentments, and lusts. Hence, let us admit our sinfulness and accept God’s call to repentance, conversion, and renewal of life. Let us love others as Jesus loved Zacchaeus, despite his sins. Parents and teachers need to accept children lovingly, without first setting up standards of behaviour as conditions for being loved. A husband and wife may have qualities that irritate each other, but they should not withhold love from each other, nor should they withhold their love from a rebellious teenager making stupid and even dangerous choices because of immaturity and peer-pressure. We are called to generosity! Jesus wants us to move from our small and feeble Faith to a greater and more powerful Faith, as Zacchaeus did, as well as to be financially and spiritually generous, like Zacchaeus.

Quý Ông Bà Anh Chị Em thân mến!
Chúng ta bước vào tháng 11, tháng giáo hội dành để cầu nguyện cho các linh hồn. Giáo hội mời gọi con cái trên toàn thế giới hãy nhớ đến những ai đã ra đi trước chúng ta và có nhiều người vẫn chưa được hưởng hạnh phúc quê trời nên chúng ta, hãy dành tháng này đễ tham dự Thánh Lễ, lần chuỗi môi khôi làm việc bác ái để cầu cho các linh hồn còn đang phải luyện tội để nhờ sự hy sinh cầu nguyện của chúng ta họ có thể sớm hưởng thánh nhan Chúa. Thứ bảy tuần này ngày 1 tháng 11 chúng ta có lễ Mừng Các Thánh lúc 6:30 sáng và chiều thứ bảy là lễ các linh hồn. Nguyện xin Thiên Chúa là Đấng giàu lòng xót thương ban cho các linh hồn được hưởng thánh nhan Chúa trên quê trời. Xin quý ông bà anh chị em tiếp tục đóng góp cho quỹ xây toà nhà Đức Tin và Đài Đức Mẹ La Vang. Nguyện xin Chúa qua lời chuyển cầu của Đức Mẹ La Vang ban muôn ơn lành trên toàn thể quý vị!
Chúa Nhật 31 hôm nay chủ đề chính của các bài đọc là lòng thương xót và sự tha thứ của Thiên Chúa cho những người tội lỗi và sự hoán cải và đổi mới đòi hỏi nơi mỗi người chúng ta. Bài đọc thứ nhất nhắc nhở chúng ta về quyền năng vô biên của Thiên Chúa gồm có sức mạnh của lòng thương xót. Vì thế, Thiên Chúa khi tạo dựng vũ trụ với lòng thương xót chờ đợi người tội lỗi hoán cải. Thiên Chúa tiếp tục yêu thương chúng ta dù ngay cả khi chúng ta không yêu Ngài. Bài đọc thứ nhất chú trọng đến tình yêu của Thiên Chúa đối với chúng ta là con người được Thiên Chúa sáng tạo và tình yêu thì vượt qua tội lỗi để rồi chúng ta có thời giờ để hoán cải. Qua bài đọc thứ hai, Thánh Phaolô khuyến khích giáo đoàn Thesalonica hãy kiên nhẫn trong niềm tin Kitô Giáo hãy làm vinh danh cho Thiên Chúa, không nên lười biếng khi mong đợi việc Chúa Kitô đến lần thứ hai trong đời của họ. Ngài khuyên bảo họ là hãy tiếp tục sống cuộc sống tốt hằng ngày, hãy để Thiên Chúa hành động trong cuộc sống của họ và sống xứng đáng ơn gọi Kitô hữu. Hôm nay trong bài Phúc Âm giới thiệu chúng ta câu chuyện việc trở lại của người thu thuế Giakêu. Ân sủng của Chúa làm cho ông ta giây phút hoán cải. Chúa Giêsu đã nhận ra ông Giakêu là người thế nào, người tội lỗi đã mất nay tìm thấy Đấng Cứu Độ và ân sủng của Chúa đã tác động mãnh liệt nơi ông Giakêu và đưa ông ta từ một con người tội lỗi tới sự hoán cải và hoàn trả. Câu chuyện này cho chúng ta việc hoán cải có kết quả khi con người nhận được tình thương sự chấp nhận và ân sủng lòng xót thương của Thiên Chúa.
Chúng ta cần chấp nhận lời mời gọi sám hối của Thiên Chúa. Chúng ta đều là người không tội nhiều thì tội ít. Chúa Kitô mời mỗi người chúng ta hãy sám hối toàn diện hôm nay. Chúa Giêsu yêu chúng ta dầu chúng ta có nhiều tội lỗi. Chúng ta hãy chấp nhận những lỗi lầm của chúng ta và chấp nhận lời mời gọi của Thiên Chúa đến để sám hối và đổi mới. Chúng ta hãy yêu người khác như Chúa Giêsu đã yêu mến ông Giakêu cho dù người tội lỗi. Chúa cũng mời chúng ta hãy quảng đại chia sẻ ân sủng và tài chánh cách quảng đại cho những ai đang khốn cùng hầu chúng ta được hưởng hạnh phúc muôn đời.

¡Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo!
Noviembre es el mes en que rezamos por todos los hermanos y hermanas fallecidos. Nuestra Iglesia de la Santa Madre invita a todos los fieles a asistir a misa, rezar rosarios sagrados y hacer algunas obras de caridad para pedir por los que nos precedieron. ¡Que todos los fieles difuntos de la misericordia de Dios descansen en paz! ¡Que el Señor, por intercesión de Nuestra Señora de La Vang, bendiga a cada uno de ustedes con paz, amor y alegría!
El tema de las lecturas de hoy es la benévola y perdonadora Misericordia de Dios para los pecadores y la respuesta de arrepentimiento y conversión que se espera de nosotros. La primera lectura nos recuerda que el Poder Todopoderoso de Dios incluye su fuerza para ser misericordioso. Es por eso que Dios, quien creó el universo misericordiosamente, espera que los pecadores se arrepientan. Dios continúa amándonos, incluso cuando nosotros no lo amamos a cambio. La lectura se centra en el amor que Dios tiene por todo lo que ha creado, el amor que pasa por alto el pecado para que todos tengamos tiempo para el arrepentimiento. En el salmo responsorial, el salmista también nos dice que el Señor es bueno con todos y que Su compasión está por todo lo que ha hecho. El Señor es misericordioso y misericordioso, lento para la ira y de gran bondad (Salmo 148: 8). En la segunda lectura, San Pablo alienta a los tesalonicenses a perseverar en su fe cristiana, dando gloria a Dios, sin esperar ociosamente la "segunda venida" de Cristo en su vida. Les aconseja que continúen viviendo una buena vida cristiana todos los días, permitiendo que Dios trabaje en sus vidas para que puedan ser dignos de su vocación como cristianos. El Evangelio de hoy presenta la historia de la conversión instantánea del recaudador de impuestos Zaqueo. La gracia de Dios lo llevó a un momento de conversión. El relato describe cómo Jesús reconoció a Zaqueo por lo que era exactamente: un pecador perdido que necesitaba un Salvador, y cómo la gracia de Dios trabajó en Zaqueo para llevarlo de la curiosidad ociosa al arrepentimiento, la conversión y la restitución. El episodio enfatiza el hecho de que tal conversión solo puede ser el resultado de que una persona reciba completamente el amor, la aceptación y la gracia de un Señor misericordioso.
Necesitamos aceptar la invitación Divina para el arrepentimiento. Todos somos pecadores en mayor o menor grado. Jesús nos invita a cada uno de nosotros a una conversión total hoy. Recordemos que Jesús nos ama a pesar de nuestros pensamientos feos, promesas incumplidas, ideales manchados, falta de oración y fe, resentimientos y deseos. Por lo tanto, admitamos nuestra pecaminosidad y aceptemos el llamado de Dios al arrepentimiento, la conversión y la renovación de la vida. Amando a los demás como Jesús amaba a Zaqueo, a pesar de sus pecados. Los padres y los maestros deben aceptar a los niños con amor, sin establecer primero estándares de conducta como condiciones para ser amados. El esposo y la esposa pueden tener cualidades que se irritan mutuamente, pero no deben reprimirse el uno al otro, ni deben retener su amor a un adolescente rebelde que toma decisiones estúpidas e incluso peligrosas debido a la inmadurez y la presión de grupo. ¡Estamos llamados a la generosidad! Jesús quiere que pasemos de nuestra Fe pequeña y débil a una Fe más grande y poderosa, como lo hizo Zaqueo, así como que seamos generosos y espiritualmente generosos, como Zaqueo.
