Sunday 18 Sunday in Ordinary time August 2, 2026



Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This Sunday’s Word of God invites us to recognize that true happiness and fulfillment come not from material possessions alone, but from God who is the source of every blessing. In a world that often encourages us to seek more wealth, comfort, and success, the Lord reminds us that our deepest hunger can only be satisfied by His love and grace.

In the First Reading from the Prophet Isaiah (55:1-3), God lovingly calls His people: “Come to me heedfully, listen, that you may have life.” The Lord offers food and drink without price, symbolizing the abundant life He gives to those who turn to Him. God knows the desires of our hearts and invites us to seek what truly nourishes our souls. The things of this world can give temporary satisfaction, but only God can give lasting peace and eternal life.

In the Second Reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Romans (8:35, 37-39), St. Paul reminds us that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. No suffering, difficulty, or uncertainty can overcome us because God’s love is stronger than every challenge we face. As disciples of Christ, we are called to live with confidence, hope, and trust, knowing that we are always held in God’s loving hands.

In the Gospel according to Matthew (14:13-21), Jesus feeds the five thousand with only five loaves and two fish. This miracle reveals the compassion of Jesus, who sees the hunger of the people and responds with generosity. It also teaches His disciples an important lesson: “Give them some food yourselves.” Jesus invites us to become instruments of His love by sharing our time, talents, and resources with those in need.

The miracle of the multiplication of the loaves continues today whenever we open our hearts to serve others. A simple act of kindness, a word of encouragement, a visit to someone who is lonely, or a generous gift to someone in need can become a way through which Christ’s love is multiplied.

As we begin this new week, let us ask ourselves: What are the things that truly satisfy my heart? Do I place my trust in God’s providence, or do I depend only on worldly things? May we learn to recognize God’s blessings, share generously with others, and become witnesses of Christ’s compassion in our families, parish, and community.

May the Eucharist we celebrate today strengthen us to live as people who trust in God’s love and who bring His generosity to the world around us.

XVIII Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario 2 de agosto de 2026

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo:

La Palabra de Dios de este domingo nos recuerda que solamente Dios puede satisfacer plenamente el hambre más profunda de nuestro corazón. En un mundo donde muchas veces buscamos la felicidad en las cosas materiales, en el éxito o en las comodidades, el Señor nos invita a poner nuestra confianza en Él, porque Él es la verdadera fuente de vida y esperanza.

En la Primera Lectura del profeta Isaías (55,1-3), Dios hace una invitación llena de amor: “Vengan a mí y comerán lo que es bueno, y vivirán.” El Señor ofrece gratuitamente sus dones y nos llama a escuchar su voz. Esta lectura nos enseña que las cosas de este mundo pueden darnos satisfacción momentánea, pero solamente la gracia y el amor de Dios pueden llenar verdaderamente nuestro espíritu.

En la Segunda Lectura de la Carta de San Pablo a los Romanos (8,35.37-39), San Pablo proclama una gran verdad: nada puede separarnos del amor de Cristo. Ni las dificultades, ni los sufrimientos, ni las preocupaciones de la vida pueden alejarnos del amor fiel de Dios. Como discípulos de Jesús, estamos llamados a vivir con confianza, sabiendo que Dios siempre camina con nosotros y nos sostiene en cada momento.

En el Evangelio según San Mateo (14,13-21) contemplamos el milagro de la multiplicación de los panes y los peces. Jesús mira con compasión a la multitud que tiene hambre y alimenta a miles de personas con unos pocos panes y peces. Este milagro revela el corazón misericordioso de Cristo y nos recuerda que Él puede transformar nuestros pequeños esfuerzos en grandes bendiciones. Jesús también dice a sus discípulos: “Denles ustedes de comer.” Con estas palabras, el Señor nos invita a compartir nuestros dones y a ser instrumentos de su amor.

Hoy Jesús continúa multiplicando su amor a través de nuestras manos: cuando ayudamos al necesitado, cuando acompañamos al que sufre, cuando ofrecemos nuestro tiempo al servicio de la familia, la Iglesia y la comunidad. Un pequeño gesto de amor puede convertirse en una gran bendición para otros.

Durante esta semana preguntémonos: ¿En qué estoy buscando mi verdadera felicidad? ¿Confío en la providencia de Dios y comparto generosamente lo que he recibido? Que aprendamos a reconocer las bendiciones del Señor y a vivir con un corazón agradecido y generoso.

Que la Eucaristía que celebramos nos fortalezca para ser testigos de Cristo, llevando esperanza, compasión y amor a todos aquellos que encontramos en nuestro camino.

Que Dios los bendiga a ustedes y a sus familias.

Chúa Nhật XVIII Thường Niên – Ngày 2 tháng 8 năm 2026

Quý ông bà và anh chị em than mến trong Đức Kitô,

Lời Chúa trong Chúa Nhật hôm nay mời gọi chúng ta nhận ra rằng chỉ có Thiên Chúa mới có thể lấp đầy những khát vọng sâu xa nhất trong tâm hồn con người. Giữa một thế giới thường chạy theo tiền bạc, vật chất, danh vọng và những tiện nghi đời sống, Chúa Giêsu nhắc nhở chúng ta rằng hạnh phúc đích thực không đến từ những gì chúng ta sở hữu, nhưng đến từ tình yêu và ân sủng của Thiên Chúa.

Trong Bài Đọc I, sách Tiên Tri Isaia (55,1-3), Thiên Chúa mời gọi dân Người: “Hãy đến với Ta, hãy lắng tai nghe thì các ngươi sẽ được sống.” Thiên Chúa ban cho chúng ta những ân huệ nhưng không, và chỉ nơi Ngài chúng ta mới tìm được sự sống viên mãn. Những điều trần thế có thể đem lại niềm vui nhất thời, nhưng chỉ có Chúa mới có thể thỏa mãn cơn đói khát thiêng liêng của tâm hồn con người.

Trong Bài Đọc II, thư Thánh Phaolô gửi tín hữu Rôma (8,35.37-39), Thánh Phaolô khẳng định một chân lý đầy hy vọng: không gì có thể tách chúng ta ra khỏi tình yêu của Đức Kitô. Dù gặp thử thách, đau khổ hay những khó khăn trong cuộc sống, chúng ta vẫn luôn được Thiên Chúa yêu thương và nâng đỡ. Niềm tin vào tình yêu Chúa giúp chúng ta sống bình an và can đảm trong mọi hoàn cảnh.

Trong Tin Mừng theo Thánh Matthêu (14,13-21), Chúa Giêsu làm phép lạ hóa bánh ra nhiều để nuôi đám đông dân chúng. Trước sự đói khát của con người, Chúa không làm ngơ nhưng chạnh lòng thương và đáp lại nhu cầu của họ. Khi nói với các môn đệ: “Chính anh em hãy cho họ ăn,” Chúa mời gọi chúng ta cộng tác với Ngài trong việc đem tình yêu và lòng quảng đại đến cho người khác.

Phép lạ bánh hóa nhiều vẫn tiếp tục xảy ra hôm nay qua những việc bác ái, sự hy sinh và lòng quảng đại của mỗi người chúng ta. Một lời an ủi, một hành động giúp đỡ, một sự chia sẻ với người đang gặp khó khăn có thể trở thành dấu chỉ tình yêu của Chúa giữa cuộc đời.

Trong tuần lễ này, chúng ta hãy tự hỏi: Điều gì đang làm no thỏa tâm hồn tôi? Tôi có thật sự tin tưởng vào sự quan phòng của Thiên Chúa và biết chia sẻ những gì mình nhận lãnh với anh chị em chung quanh không? Xin Chúa giúp chúng ta biết sống với tâm tình tạ ơn, quảng đại trao ban và trở nên khí cụ tình yêu của Chúa trong gia đình, giáo xứ và xã hội.

Xin Thánh Thể Chúa nuôi dưỡng và biến đổi chúng ta, để mỗi người trở thành những tấm bánh được bẻ ra cho tha nhân, mang niềm hy vọng và tình thương của Đức Kitô đến cho mọi người.

Nguyện xin Thiên Chúa chúc lành cho quý ông bà anh chị em và gia đình.
