Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This Sunday, the Word of God invites us to reflect deeply on the power of God’s Word and the condition of our hearts as we receive it.
In the first reading, the prophet Isaiah reminds us that just as the rain and snow come down from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, so too God’s Word never returns empty. It always fulfills His purpose. Whether we see immediate results or not, God is always at work through His Word—quietly, patiently, and effectively. This should give us hope and trust, especially in moments when faith feels dry or fruitless. The second reading from Saint Paul speaks of creation itself waiting in hope for redemption. He reminds us that suffering is part of our present reality, but it is not the end of the story. There is a future glory that far outweighs our present struggles. As children of God, we are called to live with hope, trusting that God is bringing new life even out of difficulty. In the Gospel, Jesus tells the Parable of the Sower. The seed is the Word of God, and the different types of soil represent the various ways we receive it. Some hearts are like the path—closed and hardened. Others are rocky receiving the Word with joy but lacking depth. Some are full of thorns—choked by worries, riches, and distractions. But some fall on good soil—hearts that hear, understand, and bear fruit abundantly.
This parable is not about others; it is about each of us. At different times in our lives, we may recognize ourselves in each type of soil. The question is: What kind of soil am I today? God is constantly sowing His Word into our lives—through Scripture, prayer, the Eucharist, and daily experiences. But the fruit depends on our openness. A distracted heart cannot listen. A shallow heart cannot persevere. A divided heart cannot bear lasting fruit.
The message for us to live by is this: cultivate a heart that is good soil.
We do this by: Taking time each day to listen to God in silence and prayer
- Removing the “thorns” of excessive worry, materialism, and distractions
- Deepening our faith through perseverance, especially in difficult times
- Putting the Word into action through love, forgiveness, and service
When we allow God’s Word to take root in us, our lives begin to change—and through us, God can touch the lives of others. Let us ask the Lord for grace to open our hearts more fully, so that His Word may grow within us and bear fruit that will last.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
La Palabra de Dios de este domingo nos invita a reflexionar sobre la fuerza transformadora de la Palabra divina y la disposición de nuestro corazón para acogerla.
En la primera lectura, el profeta Isaías nos recuerda que la lluvia y la nieve descienden del cielo y no vuelven sin haber empapado la tierra, haciéndola fecunda. Así también la Palabra de Dios: nunca vuelve a Él sin haber dado fruto. Aunque a veces no veamos resultados inmediatos, Dios sigue obrando en silencio en nuestras vidas. Esta certeza nos llama a confiar más plenamente en Él. En la segunda lectura, san Pablo nos habla de una creación que gime con dolores de parto, esperando la manifestación de los hijos de Dios. Nos recuerda que los sufrimientos del tiempo presente no se comparan con la gloria que vendrá. Como creyentes, estamos llamados a vivir con esperanza, sabiendo que Dios puede sacar vida nueva incluso de nuestras pruebas. En el Evangelio, Jesús nos presenta la parábola del sembrador. La semilla es la Palabra de Dios, y los distintos terrenos representan las diferentes actitudes del corazón humano. Algunos corazones están cerrados, otros son superficiales, otros están llenos de preocupaciones y riquezas que ahogan la Palabra. Pero también hay corazones buenos, que escuchan, comprenden y dan fruto abundante.
Esta parábola nos invita a preguntarnos con sinceridad: ¿qué tipo de tierra soy yo? Tal vez en distintos momentos de nuestra vida hemos sido cada uno de esos terrenos. Sin embargo, el Señor nos llama a convertirnos en tierra buena. El mensaje para vivir es claro: cultivar un corazón abierto y disponible a la Palabra de Dios.
Esto implica:
- Dedicar tiempo diario a la oración y a la escucha de Dios
- Arrancar de nuestro corazón las distracciones, preocupaciones excesivas y el apego a lo material
- Perseverar en la fe, incluso en medio de dificultades
- Poner en práctica la Palabra con obras concretas de amor, perdón y servicio
Si dejamos que la Palabra eche raíces en nosotros, nuestra vida dará fruto, y seremos instrumentos de bendición para los demás. Pidamos al Señor la gracia de tener un corazón como tierra buena, para que su Palabra crezca en nosotros y transforme nuestra vida.

Quí ông bà Anh chị em thân mến trong Chúa Kitô,
Lời Chúa hôm nay mời gọi chúng ta suy niệm về sức mạnh của Lời Thiên Chúa và cách chúng ta đón nhận Lời ấy trong cuộc sống hằng ngày.
Trong bài đọc thứ nhất, ngôn sứ Isaia ví Lời Chúa như mưa với tuyết từ trời rơi xuống, thấm vào đất và làm cho đất trở nên phì nhiêu. Lời Chúa cũng vậy, không bao giờ trở về tay Ngài mà không sinh hoa kết quả. Dù chúng ta có khi không thấy ngay kết quả, nhưng Thiên Chúa vẫn đang âm thầm hoạt động trong tâm hồn mỗi người. Điều đó mời gọi chúng ta tin tưởng và kiên nhẫn hơn vào quyền năng của Ngài. Trong bài đọc thứ hai, thánh Phaolô nhắc nhở rằng toàn thể thụ tạo đang rên siết và mong chờ ngày được cứu độ. Những đau khổ hiện tại không thể so sánh với vinh quang tương lai mà Thiên Chúa dành cho chúng ta. Là con cái Chúa, chúng ta được mời gọi sống trong niềm hy vọng, ngay cả giữa những thử thách của cuộc đời. Trong Tin Mừng, Chúa Giêsu kể dụ ngôn người gieo giống. Hạt giống là Lời Chúa, còn các loại đất tượng trưng cho những thái độ khác nhau của con người khi đón nhận Lời. Có những tâm hồn khô cứng, khép kín; có những tâm hồn hời hợt, thiếu chiều sâu; có những tâm hồn bị lo lắng và của cải đời này làm nghẹt thở. Nhưng cũng có những tâm hồn tốt lành, biết lắng nghe, hiểu và sinh nhiều hoa trái.
Dụ ngôn này mời gọi mỗi người chúng ta tự hỏi: tâm hồn tôi hôm nay là mảnh đất nào?
Sứ điệp chúng ta cần sống là: hãy trở nên mảnh đất tốt cho Lời Chúa.
Cụ thể, chúng ta được mời gọi:
- Dành thời gian mỗi ngày để cầu nguyện và lắng nghe Lời Chúa
- Loại bỏ những “gai góc” như lo lắng, đam mê vật chất và những xao lãng không cần thiết
- Kiên trì trong đức tin, nhất là khi gặp khó khăn thử thách
- Đem Lời Chúa ra thực hành qua những việc làm yêu thương, tha thứ và phục vụ
Khi Lời Chúa bén rễ sâu trong lòng chúng ta, cuộc đời chúng ta sẽ sinh hoa trái dồi dào, và chúng ta trở nên khí cụ mang ơn lành đến cho người khác. Xin Chúa ban cho mỗi người chúng ta một tâm hồn rộng mở, để Lời Ngài sinh hoa kết quả trong cuộc sống hằng ngày.
