Sunday May 10, 2026, 6th Sunday of Easter

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ!

 On this Mother’s Day, we give thanks to God for the gift of our mothers, whose love reflects His care, sacrifice, and tenderness in our lives. Let us honor them not only with words, but by living with gratitude, kindness, and faith—values they have lovingly taught us. And in our prayers, may we ask God to bless all mothers, living and deceased, with peace, strength, and eternal joy. Happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers. Today our diocesan Shepherd Bishop Kevin Vann is also celebrated his 75th Birthday. May the Lord grant him peace joy and wisdom. Happy Birthday Bishop Vann.!

 Today is the Sixth Sunday of Easter, the Word of God invites us to reflect on the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives and the call to live in love, unity, and peace. In the First Reading (Acts 15:1-2, 22-29), we hear about the early Church facing a serious disagreement. The apostles and elders gathered to discern what God was asking of them. Guided by the Holy Spirit, they made a decision that preserved unity and avoid placing unnecessary burdens on others. Their words are powerful: “It is the decision of the Holy Spirit and of us…” This reminds us that when we listen to the Spirit, we are led toward unity, not division. In our families and parish community, we are also called to listen, to dialogue, and to seek God’s will together. In the Second Reading (Revelation 21:10-14, 22-23), St. John presents a beautiful vision of the heavenly Jerusalem. It is a place filled with God’s glory, where there is no need for a temple because God Himself is present among His people. This reading gives us hope. Our journey on earth is leading us toward this eternal home, where God’s light will shine forever. It reminds us that our faith is not only about today, but about our ultimate destiny with God. In the Gospel (John 14:23-29), Jesus speaks to His disciples about love and the promise of the Holy Spirit. He tells them, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.” This is a profound promise: God desires to dwell within us. Jesus also gives His peace—not as the world gives, but a deep, lasting peace that comes from trusting in Him. He reassures His disciples not to let their hearts be troubled or afraid, because the Holy Spirit will guide and teach them.

 This Sunday’s readings invite us to live as people guided by the Holy Spirit. First, we are called to build unity, especially in moments of disagreement. Like the early Church, we must listen with humility and seek God’s will together. Second, we are reminded to live with hope, keeping our eyes fixed on our destination—eternal life with God. This hope gives meaning to our struggles and encourages us to remain faithful. Finally, we are called to live in love and peace. If we truly love Christ, we will keep His word in our daily lives—through kindness, forgiveness, patience, and service. And when we allow God to dwell within us, His peace will calm our fears and strengthen our hearts.As we continue this Easter season, let us open our hearts to the Holy Spirit. May we become instruments of unity, bearers of hope, and witnesses of Christ’s love and peace in our families and in our parish community.

Chúa Nhật 6 Phục Sinh Ngày 10 tháng 5, 2026

Quí ông bà và anh chị em thân mến,

Trong Ngày Hiền Mẫu hôm nay chúng ta dâng lời tạ ơn Thiên Chúa vì hồng ân các người mẹ, những người phản chiếu tình yêu thương và sự chăm sóc dịu dàng của Ngài trong cuộc sống chúng ta. Chúng ta hãy tôn vinh các mẹ không chỉ bằng lời nói, mà còn bằng đời sống biết ơn, yêu thương và đức tin—những giá trị các mẹ đã tận tình dạy dỗ. Và trong lời cầu nguyện, xin Chúa chúc lành cho tất cả các bà mẹ, còn sống cũng như đã qua đời, được bình an, mạnh kng niềm vui vĩnh cửu Chúc Mừng Các Bà Hôm nay, vị Mục Tử của chúng ta, Đức Giám Mục Kevin Vann, cũng mừng sinh nhật lần thứ 75. Xin Chúa ban cho ngài bình an, niềm vui và sự khôn ngoan. Chúc mừng sinh nhật Đức Giám Mục Vann!

Trong Chúa Nhật VI Phục Sinh hôm nay, Lời Chúa mời gọi chúng ta mở lòng đón nhận Chúa Thánh Thần, Đấng hướng dẫn chúng ta sống hiệp nhất, hy vọng và bình an đích thực. Trong Bài Đọc I (Cv 15,1-2.22-29), chúng ta thấy Giáo Hội sơ khai đối diện với một vấn đề gây tranh luận lớn. Các Tông Đồ và kỳ mục đã cùng nhau họp lại để lắng nghe và phân định theo sự hướng dẫn của Chúa Thánh Thần. Quyết định của các ngài không đặt thêm gánh nặng, nhưng nhằm bảo vệ sự hiệp nhất và nâng đỡ đời sống đức tin của cộng đoàn. Điều này dạy chúng ta rằng: khi gặp khó khăn hay bất đồng trong gia đình hoặc cộng đoàn, chúng ta cần biết lắng nghe, đối thoại trong khiêm tốn và tìm kiếm thánh ý Chúa. Trong Bài Đọc II (Kh 21,10-14.22-23), Thánh Gioan trình bày một thị kiến tuyệt đẹp về Giêrusalem mới – nơi tràn đầy vinh quang Thiên Chúa. Ở đó không còn đền thờ, vì chính Thiên Chúa hiện diện giữa dân Người và là ánh sáng cho họ. Hình ảnh này nhắc nhở chúng ta rằng cuộc đời trần thế chỉ là hành trình, và đích điểm của chúng ta là được sống đời đời với Chúa. Niềm hy vọng này giúp chúng ta vững vàng giữa những thử thách của cuộc sống. Trong Tin Mừng (Ga 14,23-29), Chúa Giêsu nói với các môn đệ về tình yêu và lời hứa ban Chúa Thánh Thần. Ngài nói: “Ai yêu mến Thầy thì sẽ giữ lời Thầy, Cha Thầy sẽ yêu mến người ấy, và chúng ta sẽ đến và ở lại với người ấy.” Đây là một lời hứa tuyệt vời: Thiên Chúa muốn ngự trong tâm hồn chúng ta. Chúa Giêsu cũng ban cho chúng ta bình an của Ngài – không như bình an của thế gian, nhưng là bình an sâu xa, giúp chúng ta vượt qua mọi sợ hãi. Chúa Thánh Thần sẽ dạy dỗ và nhắc nhở chúng ta sống theo lời Chúa. Lời Chúa hôm nay mời gọi chúng ta sống cụ thể đức tin của mình mỗi ngày. Trước hết, chúng ta được mời gọi xây dựng sự hiệp nhất. Trong gia đình và cộng đoàn, hãy biết lắng nghe, cảm thông và tìm kiếm điều tốt đẹp chung thay vì chia rẽ. Thứ đến, chúng ta được mời gọi sống niềm hy vọng. Dù cuộc sống có khó khăn, hãy luôn nhớ rằng Thiên Chúa đang chuẩn bị cho chúng ta một quê hương vĩnh cửu đầy ánh sáng và bình an. Sau cùng, chúng ta được mời gọi sống yêu thương và bình an. Yêu mến Chúa không chỉ bằng lời nói, nhưng bằng việc giữ lời Ngài qua những hành động cụ thể: biết tha thứ, phục vụ, kiên nhẫn và quan tâm đến người khác. Khi để Chúa ngự trong lòng, chúng ta sẽ trở nên khí cụ mang bình an của Ngài đến cho mọi người. Nguyện xin Chúa Thánh Thần hướng dẫn mỗi người chúng ta trong mùa Phục Sinh này, để chúng ta trở nên dấu chỉ của sự hiệp nhất, niềm hy vọng và tình yêu của Chúa giữa thế giới hôm nay.

Queridos hermanos y hermanes en Cristo!

En este Día de las Madres, damos gracias a Dios por el regalo de nuestras madres, cuyo amor refleja su ternura y cuidado en nuestras vidas. Honrémoslas no solo con palabras, sino viviendo con gratitud, bondad y fe, valores que nos han enseñado con amor. Y en nuestras oraciones, pidamos a Dios que bendiga a todas las madres, vivas y difuntas, con paz, fortaleza y alegría eterna. Hoy nuestro Pastor, el Obispo Kevin Vann, también celebra su 75º cumpleaños. Que el Señor le conceda paz, alegría y sabiduría. ¡Feliz cumpleaños, Obispo Vann!

 En este Sexto Domingo de Pascua, la Palabra de Dios nos invita a abrir el corazón al Espíritu Santo, quien nos guía hacia la unidad, la esperanza y la paz verdadera. En la Primera Lectura (Hechos 15:1-2, 22-29), vemos a la Iglesia primitiva enfrentando un conflicto importante. Había  de opiniones sobre lo que se debía exigir a los nuevos creyentes. Los apóstoles y los ancianos se reunieron para discernir juntos, escuchando la voz del Espíritu Santo. Su decisión final no impone cargas innecesarias, sino que busca la unidad y el bien común. Este ejemplo nos enseña que, cuando surgen dificultades en nuestras familias o en la comunidad, estamos llamados a dialogar con humildad, escuchar al Espíritu y buscar la paz. En la Segunda Lectura (Apocalipsis 21:10-14, 22-23), San Juan nos presenta una visión llena de esperanza: la Jerusalén celestial. Es un lugar donde Dios habita plenamente con su pueblo. No hay necesidad de templo, porque Dios mismo es su templo y su luz. Esta imagen nos recuerda que nuestra vida tiene una meta: vivir eternamente con Dios. Nos anima a no perder de vista esa promesa, especialmente en medio de las pruebas de la vida. En el Evangelio (Juan 14:23-29), Jesús nos habla del amor y de la promesa del Espíritu Santo. Nos dice: “El que me ama, guardará mi palabra, y mi Padre lo amará, y vendremos a él para hacer nuestra morada en él.” Qué hermosa promesa: Dios quiere habitar en nosotros. Jesús también nos regala su paz, una paz diferente a la del mundo, una paz profunda que calma nuestros temores. Nos invita a no tener miedo, porque el Espíritu Santo nos enseñará y nos recordará todo lo que Él nos ha dicho.

 Las lecturas de hoy nos llaman a vivir de manera concreta nuestra fe. Primero, estamos invitados a ser constructores de unidad. En un mundo lleno de divisiones, nosotros, como discípulos de Cristo, debemos ser instrumentos de diálogo, comprensión y reconciliación.\ Segundo, estamos llamados a vivir con esperanza. La visión del cielo nos recuerda que nuestras luchas no son el final. Dios nos prepara una vida nueva y eterna junto a Él. Finalmente, Jesús nos invita a vivir en el amor y en su paz. Amar a Cristo significa guardar su palabra en lo cotidiano: perdonar, servir, ser pacientes y ayudar a los demás. Cuando dejamos que Dios habite en nuestro corazón, su paz transforma nuestra vida y nos convierte en testigos de su amor. En este tiempo de Pascua, abramos nuestro corazón al Espíritu Santo. Que Él nos guíe para vivir en unidad, crecer en esperanza y compartir la paz de Cristo.
